This built structure looking out over the ocean was formerly the battery position from which the Penghu Bay was guarded. Artist Tseng Jing Ting has used fiber and net weaving to lightly merge into the environment, using space between the highest and lowest points to form an arching structure with hammocks. Within the interlacing of nested and enriched light and shadow, visitors can lie down and gaze out at the ocean, moving with the wind as if floating in the sea. This soft space of this artwork transforms the characteristics of this historic military site into a place where one can play, rest or stop and ponder.
